The MB-1 is a low impedance, low voltage circuit tester.  It indicates continuity by emitting a low frequency tone when the circuit path is normal.  In semiconductor circuits, the MB-1 can indicate a normal junction and will detect opens, shorts and failing devices.  The MB-1 can detect shorted shields and windings in transformers.  In Diodes, the MB-1 can detect opens and marginal junctions.  In cable runs, the MB-1 can indicate the type of shorts by sensing the length of the closed circuit.  Cable runs in excess of 50 feet is acceptable to the MB-1.  All detection is done by sensing the tested circuit's resistance and is indicated by a variable tone from the MB-1.  It is powered by a single 1.5 VDC battery.  The tip-to-tip current is less than 20ma in a dead short.  A red and black set of rubberized test leads, 36" long, are provided as standard lengths. Other lengths are available by special orders.  Weight is 12 ounces.
