Introducing The New Softcomm,

  ATC-2-SP2

This New Ultra-lo power draw intercom is ideal for situations Where AC power is not available. It uses only 1 ma standby current. (with Dynamic Mic elements in the handsets) This means a standard 6 volt lantern style battery can last for 6 months 24 hours a day, Plus! The ATC-2-SP2 is available in several configurations for type of Handsets and Power Supply Requirements making this a very Versatile Little Intercom!

The ATC-2-SP2 is Perfect for Solar Powering!

(note: Carbon and Electret condenser Mic elements draw a small amount of power also. Please read the technical specs to determine total current draw for your application.)

Model ATC-2-SP2(-E)(-D)(-C)(-B)(-R)(-G) can be configured 7 ways.
  • Suffix B=  6 Volts DC. Battery powered. This Model will operate between 2 thru 6 volts. Power for this unit must not exceed 6 Volts. Designed for Batteries only.
  • Suffix R= 8 thru 32 Volts AC or DC. This Perfect if already have 24 Vac. distributed for surveillance purposes... Plus, this model is internally  regulated, so a wide variance in Power Supply Voltage will not change the gain characteristics from unit to unit.
  • Suffix C = Carbon  Microphone Element. These mics typically require about 3.0 ma. current each. The ATC-2SP-2-C delivers approximately 1.75 ma. which to each Mic. This raises the distortion of the of the Mic element a little, but intelligibility is still 100% . The only real advantage to this Mic element is that, they are almost totally indestructible.
  • Suffix D = Dynamic Microphone Element. This model is transformer coupled at input. Standard 75 thru 600 ohm. moving coil elements work great. Their not as tough as a Carbon, but very very close...
  • Suffix E = Electret Condenser Mic Elements. These type of mics require a small    amount of power. Usually around 250 ua. (0.25 ma.) So each pair of  handsets (up to 4 maximum) will raise the total current draw .5 ma. However they are more prevalent to damage from Mechanical Shock
